Land and Development Fund

Recently, 52 acres of land adjacent to the EB Lyons Interpretive Center became available. If we are able to purchase this land, it would provide a buffer between the Mines of Spain Recreation Area and the developed area to the west. The Friends of the Mines of Spain are fundraising for this land and future acquisitions by establishing a Land and Development Fund. Our project partners: Friends of the Mines of Spain, the City of Dubuque, Iowa Department of Natural Resources and generous donors such as you.

A plan has been formulated to define the appropriate function and management of the new acquisition. Your input will be important in determining the best use of this wonderfully unique and beautiful area.
